World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. item upgrading come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. In certain instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity and level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.
The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to boost their effectiveness. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the arrows that are circling. The item will be rerolled and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor can make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character has the more value you will get from every point of health you have, so it's important to improve your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each fountain, you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the fountain that corresponds, you can then talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. In general, you're looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a large group of enemies in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a table or in the chest of the Alchemist. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion as well as the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you use it again or break the bottle in the container it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. For example splash potions now have the duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. The same is true for the use of a potion in an empty cauldron. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.
There are also simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping, the decomposition potion, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It may also refer to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but is not particularly important like a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be obtained by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets, unlike other items which can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of trinkets that are rare.
Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade a trinket for just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same base level as the old trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other items of gear they won't replace in the near future (for instance rings or cloaks). When deciding the items to upgrade, players should take into account their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.
When they are no longer useful, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than buying an entirely new trinket.
